How to Throw a Friendsgiving

But also a birthday party.

My birthday is in a weird part of the year where it’s too cold to go to a winery or brewery, but not late enough to go skiing- 11.11. This year, I threw my first birthday party before Thanksgiving, and called it a Friendsgiving. And, with every Friendsgiving, comes tasty home-made tapas and appetizers.

On top of the incredible gluten-free red velvet cupcakes, gluten-free turkey meatballs and the cauliflower on toast, I made Sangria (which was a home-run) as well as a big pitcher of Mojitos.

Surprisingly, I forgot the pre-guest table photoshoot.

My Hay Design portable lamps that I ordered a month in advance, my Bando strawberry and orange juice vases, lots of tapers, cloth napkins, Hotel Magique x Anthropologie plates, and the Glou Glou wine that I was too scared to “waste”.

The massive blue wine glasses are from William Sonoma, and small plastic pink cups are from Anthropologie. Oh, and the cactus wine glasses that I refuse to let anyone else but me use (even though I have 6) are from Ichendorf Milano by designer Alessandra Baldereschi.

My 2 Cesca chairs arrived just in time, to mix in with my four Ikea plastic Tobias chairs, and two blue Knoll chairs around the incredible oval dining table that my dad made for me.

And last but not least, my sparkly dress is from For Love and Lemons!

Happy Friendsgiving!
